Roma Market; Now thats Italian

A Real Find

One of the best things in Pasadena is Roma's Market located on the corner of Lake and Mountain. The best Italian deli meats and cheeses no kidding. Mr Roma has been here well over 50 years and he knows his stuff. Did I mention the fresh baked (breads delivered every morning) this is something to behold. My favorite is the olive oil bread OMG so good. Reasonable prices on fruits and vegetables and plenty of beer and Italian wines. Great people doing a really great job. That's why I choose to shop locally and get the best. Mr Roma is someone you really might want to know. Mention you read it here and I am pretty sure he will give you a tasting slice as he fills your order. Also great olives. Go check it out you will be glad you did.

Yes, this is an incredible place to shop for all food things Italian.

I can still remember my first visit in 1955 with my father and brother when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade at McKinley.

I left Pasadena several years ago, but am amazed this store (as awesome as it is) has survived so long !!

Well, I think the guy's name is Ross, the proprietor, that is. This store is better for Italian cheeses, OK for Italian cold cuts. The bread is fresh and excellent, as mentioned, Italian styles including the famous "big and ugly." Roma is my only source for serious bread, important party, holiday, etc. He won't tell you where the bread comes from. You just have to overlook that.

Oh, and one other comment about Roma Market . . . the proprietor, Ross, knows more about classic Italian film than anyone I know. Try him. I bet you cannot stump Ross on anything Italian film wise (unless it was made in the last 10 years).
